Irrigation System Troubles?

- How to handle leaks in your row.

The new irrigation main system is 100% functional and the water was turned on for gardeners about 1 month early this season with great success.

Now that we are not having water main breaks, shutting down whole sections or the entire garden for days at a time, we are streamlining the process for individual rows.

If you have a leak, or see a leak you should:
1. Stop the leak
2. Tag the row box
3. Report the leak or fix it.

To stop the leak, go to the row box and turn it off.  Many rows have a back up water supply at the end, be sure this is on and works.

In the row box, there is a repair tag, and kit.  Just take out the tag and mark it with the wax-pencil

Put the tie-wrap through the hole-punch and then through the small hole in the side of the box when you shut the lid if you are not making the repair.  This will lock the box until someone who can repair the leak comes along, and will alert anyone who is wondering why the row is down to the reasons.

The bag and repair kit below will be in the row box.  If you need to make a splice, use the connection and hose clamp in the box.  If you can't find the parts there, get access to the big green box in the wheelbarrow area - there are tons of plumbing supplies in there.
