HOW TO JOIN
Any resident of Boston can have a plot
in the Fenway Victory Gardens, subject to availability and
willingness to adhere to the Fenway Garden Society
Guidelines and Regulations. The annual fee is $30 for a
single plot and/or $15 for seniors (55 and over), only one plot is available to new gardeners.
Keep in mind that caring for a plot is a
responsibility. Approximately six hours a week of active care
taking is necessary to maintain a single plot. Routine garden-tending
includes:

| Gardeners
Allison Evans and Michael Dignazio |
soil preparation
planting, cultivation
fertilizing
watering
plant staking
pruning
deadheading or harvesting
weeding
public path maintenance
fence or garden structure
repairs
removal of plant material
to the
compost
pick-up and removal of
trash and
debris.
Exhausted by just the
thought of all that? Remember, garden admirers are important,
too! So if you think youll feel more comfortable strolling
through the gardens from time to time, you are most welcome
to do so.
If you are still intent on joining,
we recommend that you also check out the
Fenway
Garden Society Guidelines and Regulations to ensure that
you are aware of all the rules before you are assigned a plot.
NOTE: YOU MUST BE A BOSTON
RESIDENT TO JOIN FGS. If you are not a resident of Boston,
you will not receive a response. Gardens are currently
available and we will be making them available
to gardeners as of April 1st. Gardens are given out in
a first-come-first serve matter, so get your applications in
soon.
